Much Regeneration in Murch
The Murch Regeneration project was an early success for Creative Rural Communities. Children, young people and local businesses have all felt the benefits of a partnership project between the Vale Council and the Murch Regeneration Group which set out to refurbish and regenerate the Murch shopping area in Dinas Powys. There were limited recreational facilities for children and young people, so the project included a refurbished play area for toddlers and a multi-use games area for young people. Emma Lougher, owner of “A Class Apart” was looking to open premises but had not previously considered the Murch as a location. “Following the improvements I decided to locate at the Murch. The multi use games area nearby, funded as part of the project, has provided a much needed facility for young people” .
