Part of a Plan
Rural Community Action (RCA) funding provides revenue support for the strategic development of community regeneration work and 'capacity building' activities. Activities cannot be 'one-offs.' They must be part of a coherent action plan.

Dinas Powys Music Festival

Dinas Powys Music Festival Group received £2,185 in RCA funding in order to promote a local music festival.

They received support to establish a website and to give website training to volunteers. They also received funding for marketing items such as book marks and a promotional leaflet.

Rhoose Group

The Rhoose Group applied to RCA for £1,507 towards the costs of generating interest to produce a book on the local history of Rhoose.

Rural Transport Group £3,000

The rural transport group received £3,000 to engage a consultant to look at the current transport service in the rural Vale and particularly at the idea of community transport. The group are aware of the Grass Routes Project in Monmouthshire and are keen to see if a similar project could be developed in the rural Vale.

Village & Town Hall Forum

Funding for the initial development of a Village & Town Hall Forum was agreed in December 2006, and as the Forum continues to meet on a 3 monthly basis, the sum of £650 has been granted to support this. The Forum provides support and networking opportunities to those involved with the day-to-day running of community venues.
