Decisions by those “in the know”

The Local Action Group consists of a group of local people who make the all-important decisions about where funding from Creative Rural Communities can make the most difference to local people’s lives.

Applications for support are carefully considered by the Local Action Group (LAG), which is also responsible for day-to-day decision-making and implementation of the strategy set out by the The Vale of Glamorgan Rural Partnership.

The group is chaired by Mandy Davies, who represents the Vale Marketing Group. She and her husband run a successful B&B business and due to her involvement in tourism, she has become more involved in the wider issues affecting local industry and the local community. She is a board director of Capital Region Tourism, Chair of the South East Wales Tourism Forum, Chair of The Vale Accommodation Forum and Chair and founder member of the Vale Marketing Group. The LAG’s Vice Chairman is Rachel Connor, who is also Vice Chairman of The Vale of Glamorgan Rural Partnership.

Members of the LAG are supported by advisors who, whilst they do not attend every meeting, can be called upon when required for help with specific projects.
